The human perspective
Palacio Manco Capac sits on a hill with amazing views over Cusco. I felt safe in the area, and the walk down to the main square took about 10 minutes. I especially enjoyed the building’s historic architecture and the friendly alpacas in the central courtyard.
Our room was clean, spacious and very comfortable, with a window overlooking the alpaca courtyard—a detail we particularly enjoyed. The breakfast buffet and restaurant meals were delicious. I’d recommend it to solo travelers and couples, though a family stay could be pricey. Remember that the walk back from the main square is uphill.
What stands out about this hotel
Palacio Manco Capac suits travelers who want a quieter viewpoint above Cusco’s historic core. Its San Cristóbal setting and gardens favor a slower hotel stay, with a practical tradeoff: returning uphill is less convenient than staying beside the main square.
